Contrary to popular belief, your brain COMES ALIVE when you FALL ASLEEP
During sleep your brain doesn't just assimilate new learnings into knowledge networks, perform cleaning activities, and consolidate memories - it works on your problems!
Because of this, if you put tomorrow's to-do list together in the evening, your subconscious brain will go to work 'solving your problems': it will work on the things that need to get done tomorrow.
What it means, is that during sleep, while you dream, your brain is putting in motion your tasks: the resources required, logical order, potential barriers or obstacles, timing and scheduling, competing priorities etc.
Further, it turns out that we reliably make forecasting errors when it comes to how much energy we will have in some future tense; how much we will remember of our current intentions, as well as how much time we will have to get things done.
Because of this, research shows that people who plan their next day the night before, and prepare accordingly, are much more productive, punctual, and relaxed the day-of.
So, if you can do one thing for yourself this week to be more productive: put together an evening routine that organizes your tomorrow, today, and you will be much more likely to get more done, be less stressed, be more relaxed, and be more punctual throughout your week!
