Secondly, every time you check something off your list you get a little surge of dopamine - the 'action hormone' - as well as 'reward hormones' (like serotonin, norepinephrine, endorphins etc.) that help propel you through your task-list - you feel great about the progress you can visually see throughout your day!
Secret Hint: Do something not on your list? Add it to the list and check it off - the hormone boost will work anyway!
